EC Proposed General Data Protection Regulation, 1/12

In January, 2012 the European Commission proposed this Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Protection of Individuals with Regard to the Processing of Personal Data and on the Free Movement of Such Data (General Data Protection Regulation).

At the time of publication of this draft, the anticipated timing for implementation of the the final regulation was 2014.

This broad-reaching regulation will impact several sectors of the life sciences industry, including adverse event reporting and clinical trial data management.
